Who it is for
The teacher who runs their own groups
Most software on the Egyptian market is built for a tutoring centre: the centre's owner buys it, teachers are entered as employees, and prices and timetables are decided from above. The independent teacher — who runs their own groups, sets their own prices and answers to their own students' parents — either rents a system designed for someone else or goes back to the paper register. Dros Spot was built from exactly that point.
- The teacher owns the account. Groups, timetable and prices are theirs; they can cancel at any time and the data stays theirs.
- No teacher can see another teacher's students, even when the same student attends both.
- The assistant sees only what the teacher allows — and can never see invoices. That is a design rule, not a setting.
- Serves every governorate of Egypt: cards arrive printed, nothing is installed on site, and it keeps working on weak or no internet.
What it does
From the door to the parent
Attendance
- Every student carries one printed card with a barcode and a QR code (a signed token — no personal data exposed; a photocopy does not work).
- Scanned by the teacher's phone camera or any off-the-shelf barcode reader.
- Self check-in from the student's phone is location-verified, so nobody checks in from home.
- Late and absent are detected automatically; absence excuses go through the parent first.
- Keeps scanning offline; the teacher reviews and confirms before anything is recorded.
Invoices & collection
- An invoice is generated automatically after the number of sessions the teacher sets — computed on sessions actually taught, not on calendar months.
- An alert appears at the door when a student who owes money scans in.
- Full or partial payments; booklets and bookings are itemised separately.
- A one-tap 15-day grace period lets a family's child pass through the door like everyone else; it expires on its own.
- The parent receives an SMS receipt naming the teacher, the subject, the amount and the remaining balance.
Parents
- One account for all their children and all their children's teachers.
- Instant attendance/absence notifications and a daily summary.
- A periodic report with attendance, marks and grade, downloadable as PDF.
- Important messages arrive by ordinary SMS for parents without a smartphone.
What's different
Four things you will not find in a centre system
One assistant, several teachers
An assistant works for more than one teacher from one account, with a hard wall between each teacher's data — even scans made offline are attributed to the right teacher after switching.
One parent account, full stop
All children, all their teachers, one login — not an account per child or per teacher.
Works with the internet down
Scans are stored on the device and uploaded after the teacher reviews them, so a session is never attributed to the wrong slot.
A card that cannot be forged
A signed, secured token that carries no exposed student data. Photographed or copied, it simply does not work.
Compared with a tutoring-centre system
| Centre management system | Dros Spot | |
|---|---|---|
| Who owns it | The centre's management | The teacher |
| Prices & timetable | Decided from above | Set by the teacher |
| Who sees invoices | Front-desk staff | Never the assistant |
| Students | Shared across the centre | Invisible to other teachers |
| Hardware | A device installed at the door | The teacher's phone; any barcode reader optional |
| Internet | Required | Works offline, syncs later |
A physical product, not just a screen
One card per student — valid with every teacher they attend
A student's identity is one across the whole platform: the card scanned at the maths teacher in the morning is the same card scanned at the physics teacher in the evening. Each teacher's attendance, invoices and reports remain entirely separate. Cards are printed and delivered ready; a lost card is cancelled instantly and replaced. Students of the founding cohort hold a PRIME card, engraved with a lifetime exemption from the subscription fee.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy special hardware?
No. You start with your phone alone; the camera reads the card directly. As your groups grow, add any ordinary barcode reader from the market.
What happens if the internet drops during a lesson?
Scanning continues and is saved on the device; you review it yourself before it is recorded.
How is the invoice calculated?
On the sessions you actually taught, not on the days the student attended.
Who is Madam Rose?
Your personal assistant for running the day inside Dros Spot — and not AI: fixed formulas over the figures you recorded, so the same figures always give the same result. Every day at 11 am she sends you and your assistants the sheet of the day: today's sessions and their venues, who on those rosters owes an overdue bill the door will stop, and what waits in the complaints queue — and she brings you every new complaint the moment it is filed. On the money side she records every payment the moment it is taken and under the name of whoever took it, keeps the expense ledger, and asks for the cash count every Thursday. She writes no figure and decides no complaint: you decide — and an assistant only ever sees their own cash box and the sessions at their venues.
Is Madam Rose AI?
No. Madam Rose is fixed rules and arithmetic, not an AI model and never a guess: she adds, subtracts and compares what was actually recorded, so the same figures always give the same result, and every figure she states has a source you can open and check. The name is there so her messages read easily — the decision is always yours.
Can a student or parent dispute a grade, an attendance mark or a payment?
Yes. They open a complaint on one specific session, invoice or grade from the app — and for a grade they attach a photo of the answer sheet and mark where the error is. It reaches you in one list and you decide; on approval the record itself is corrected and the family is notified.
Can my assistant see my invoices?
No, never. It is forbidden by the system's design, not an option that can be switched on.
How does a parent reach the teacher?
From the app the parent opens a «ticket» to one specific teacher of their child: a subject and a written question. The teacher is notified and replies — or their assistant does — when free, and the parent is notified of the reply. Both sides see the ticket's status (open, in progress, resolved) and the whole conversation stays written and kept: no call after ten at night, no message lost in a group chat.
Does the parent need a smartphone?
No. Important messages reach them by ordinary SMS.
What is the difference between Dros Spot and tutoring-centre management systems?
Centre systems are run by the centre's management and the teacher is an employee in them. Dros Spot is built for the independent teacher: your groups, prices and data are yours alone, and no other teacher on the platform can see them.
Does it work as a barcode attendance program?
Yes — attendance by scanning the barcode or QR on the student's card, with automatic late and absent detection, and it works offline. On top of that it adds automatic invoices, reports, and apps for the parent and the student.
What if a student attends more than one teacher on the system?
One card is enough. The student's identity is one across the platform and the same card is scanned at every teacher; each teacher's attendance, invoices and reports are completely independent.
How do I know the print shop printing the cards is authorized by Dros Spot?
Every partner shop hangs a certificate with a QR code. Scan it with your phone camera: a page opens on drosspot.app with the shop's name and city as we registered them. A name that differs from the shop you are standing in means a copied certificate. The current list of partners is published on the site.
Does it work outside Cairo and the big cities?
Yes — in every governorate of Egypt. No branch, no installed hardware: the cards arrive printed and ready, and the system runs at full capacity from the phone even on weak internet.
